1997 was an amazing year for music. My favorite band in the world, Blur, released Blur and Ben Folds released Brick. That was the year to be too cool for music except for the right kind.

And Pavement released Stereo.

Cut Your Hair was the Pavement song that was all about crossover appeal with the MTV set, but Stereo? Stereo is fucking amazing. If you listen to this song, you will be cool. This is a song that will make you cool. This is the song that embodies everything that was okay with the 90s. It’s the song you listen to when you’re not at all cool, but fuck you, you’re actually cool, because this song is cool and you blast it.

Fuck. This is a cool song.
